About Christian
Hi! I’m Christian, and I’m someone who knows what it feels like to struggle academically — because I’ve been there too. I used to be a really poor student, and for a long time, I thought doing well meant sacrificing everything else — studying for endless hours and giving up my social life and hobbies. But through simple, smart changes in how I studied — not by working harder, but by working smarter — everything shifted. I learned practical, sustainable strategies that didn’t drain my life, but actually boosted my results. These methods helped me turn things around completely: I became dux of my year, scored fantastic HSC marks, and still had time for my friends, interests, and mental health. Now, as a provisional psychologist, I also weave in psychological principles that make studying feel less overwhelming and much more effective. My tutoring approach is student-centred, flexible, and focused on building strong critical thinking and writing skills. I break down complex English concepts into clear, manageable steps and teach structured methods for essay writing, text analysis, and exam preparation. I also adapt my lessons to each student’s learning style, aiming to boost their confidence and independence over time.
Lessons typically run for 1 hour, although I offer 1.5-hour sessions for students who prefer extra depth or exam practice.
I am an experienced tutor with a strong academic background, having achieved a 99.25 ATAR and extensive experience supporting students through the HSC English Standard, Advanced, and Extension 1 courses. I understand the pressures of the HSC and work closely with students to develop personalised study strategies that lead to consistent improvement.
My lessons are ideal for high school students in Years 7–12 who want to strengthen their English skills, refine their writing, and maximise their school/HSC performance. Whether you are aiming for a Band 6 or trying to boost your marks, I tailor my support to meet you where you are.
