About Harry
I am a 27-year-old British man who has just recently moved to Canada. My foundational education is in physics, supported by my BSc Physics degree from the University of Surrey, with my further education being in data science (Energy Systems and Data Analytics), supported by my MS degree from University College London. During my Master's degree, I learned core coding practices using the R coding language. Whilst completing my Master's degree, I was headhunted for a job in the energy sector. Upon graduating, I started my role as a technical consultant and subsequently became their sole data scientist - this is where I learned Python. Over the following 3 years, I developed the back-end software for this company's home efficiency calculation.

Despite my degrees, I am largely self-taught in Python, meaning that I have established a tight grasp on the application of its coding principles. Being self-taught with an abundance of experience, I feel strongly that I can communicate its topics clearly in a digestible format. I feel that the best way to handle these tutoring sessions is for the student to present me with the topic ahead of time for their specific needs, be it a specific project or the whole module for their school work, and I will develop content of a session based on these themes. I believe that the best way to learn is through conversation. So, following a brief initial explanation, I will converse with the student to gain confidence that they have grasped the subject. Subsequently, we will complete some exercises, initially together, and after a level of proficiency has been demonstrated, the student will attempt problems on their own, until I am confident that we have reached a reasonable level of understanding.
