About Jackson
With 15+ years of experience performing, teaching students of all ages, and working as a professional musician worldwide, I bring a distinctive and personal approach to drum set instruction. My style is shaped by years of listening to and studying the master drummers, and I believe that learning an instrument should always be an enjoyable and rewarding journey. When students encounter challenges, I see those moments as valuable opportunities to overcome obstacles and celebrate progress. In addition to drumming, I’m deeply connected to the wider music community. I work at New York City’s leading jazz rehearsal studio, where I’m inspired daily by the city’s vibrant musical energy. My passion for creativity extends to the kitchen, where I’ve learned to blend flavors and timing, skills that influence my teaching and musicianship. I’m dedicated to helping each student find their unique voice on the drums, whether your goal is a simple daily practice routine or performing on the world’s biggest stages. My teaching integrates real-life experiences, ensuring lessons are practical, engaging, and tailored to your ambitions.

We will discuss your inspirations & goals to prioritize in our lessons, which gives a personalized path forward for each student of mine. Our main focus will be listening and breaking down songs chosen by YOU! Fundamental rudiments & techniques are important aspects to drumming and will be touched upon in each lesson as well. Genre and drumming styles will be explored as I recommend top drummers & artists for you to study and cover in our lessons together.
Beginner & Intermediate lessons will cover diligent practice routines that work with your schedule & ways to improve each week. Consistency is always encouraged in ways that are not overwhelming.
Intermediate & Advanced Lessons will dig deeper into song study at a higher difficulty, phrasing, touch, feel, dynamics, gigging, if that is something you are interested in, & much more for continuous growth on the drum set.
