I use a student-centered approach that makes learning interactive and relevant. I break down complex ideas into simple steps, use questioning to build critical thinking, and connect lessons to real-world examples so knowledge sticks.
A typical lesson plan begins with a quick check-in to review prior learning and set goals, followed by an introduction to the topic with visuals, stories, or examples. We will work through guided discussion and practice activities, as well as independent application or problem-solving. Finally, we end the session with key takeaways and next steps.
My approach to learning was developed over 15 years of teaching, facilitating learning, and curriculum development. I am skilled at adapting lessons to each student's pace and goals where I serve as the guide to help each student take ownership of individual learning. I focus on confidence building, not just memorization. My goal is to make History, Civics, Geography, and Bible Studies engaging and practical.
I offer support in History, Civics, Geography, and other Social Studies curriculum to Middle School, High School, and College students. In addition, lessons are available for adults who want to deepen their knowledge or prepare for exams. Furthermore, I work with learners of all backgrounds who are interested in studying the Bible from historical, cultural, and/or literary perspectives.
