About Rachel
Hi, I’m Rachel! I am a high school English teacher who is passionate about helping students become confident readers, writers, and critical thinkers. I enjoy guiding students as they analyze texts, strengthen their writing skills, and develop their own voices.
I create a supportive, engaging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, taking academic risks, and challenging themselves. Through creative strategies and personalized instruction, I help students improve their skills in literature, writing, reading comprehension, and standardized test preparation.
With experience teaching high school English, designing curriculum, and preparing students for the NYS ELA Regents exam, I provide individualized support to help students achieve their goals. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy reading, exploring new ideas, and creating connections between literature, culture, and the world around us.

As an experienced high school ELA teacher, I help students strengthen reading, writing, critical thinking, and standardized test skills through creative, student-centered instruction. I tailor lessons to each student’s goals using strategies such as close reading, discussion, guided practice, writing workshops, and targeted feedback.
Each lesson includes a clear goal, instruction, practice, and reflection to help students build confidence and apply new skills. With experience designing curriculum and preparing students for the NYS ELA Regents exam, I create engaging lessons that make challenging material approachable for middle and high school students.
