About Laura
Hi! I’m Laura, an experienced elementary teacher with more than 10 years of experience helping children learn and grow.
I hold a Master’s degree in Education as well as TESOL and TEFL certifications. My experience includes teaching in elementary classrooms and working with children online. I specialize in early literacy, including phonics, phonemic awareness, decoding, fluency, vocabulary, and reading comprehension.
As a teacher, I believe children learn best when they feel comfortable, encouraged, and successful. I’m patient, positive, and experienced in adapting instruction to meet each child at their individual level.
Whether your child is just beginning to read or needs additional support strengthening their literacy skills, I would love to help them become a more confident, capable, and independent reader!

I make reading lessons engaging, encouraging, and tailored to each child’s individual needs. My goal is to help young learners build strong foundational reading skills while developing confidence and a love of reading.
For K–2 students, lessons may include phonemic awareness, phonics, decoding, sight words, reading fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. I use an interactive, Science of Reading–aligned approach and adjust instruction based on each child’s current skills and progress.
Lessons are designed for beginning readers as well as children who may need additional support strengthening their reading skills. I meet each child at their current level and provide targeted practice to help fill gaps, strengthen skills, and build toward greater independence.
Most importantly, I want children to feel comfortable making mistakes, trying new skills, and celebrating their progress. Lessons are positive and encouraging so children can build both their reading skills and their confidence as readers.
Lessons are designed especially for elementary-aged children, including beginning readers, children who need additional reading support, and ESL/ELL students developing their English skills.
Most importantly, I want children to feel comfortable making mistakes, trying new skills, and celebrating their progress. Every lesson is personalized so your child receives the support and challenge they need to grow.
