About Angela

I am a lover of books, words, theatre, drama and nature. My own bookworm behaviour as a child led me to want to create my own worlds and characters in my own stories and poetry. There was simply no other career for me than one which inspired young people to love books like I do. I have only ever been a teacher!

About the lesson

My lessons start with BIG questions that enable my students to immediately make links between the text/topic and their own lives and experiences. I use a range of methods and tasks, adapting the level and pace for each student, to maximise progress and confidence. I like my lessons to be punchy, lively and end with a great sense of achievement.

Angela tutored my son for his English GCSE in his final year as he was really struggling with it at school. She was extremely patient, thorough and clear in her teaching and helped my son to improve his final grade compared with his mocks. I would highly recommend her.

Angie provided some fantastic GCSE support for my son. She was warm and friendly and had some great materials to help him prepare and feel confident about his GCSEs. He ended up lifting his marks by 2 points as a result of Angie's support. Plus, he really enjoyed his sessions, which were tailored around what he needed. I would highly recommend her.

We highly recommend Angela as an English tutor. My son secured the GSCE grades he needed to go on and do the A Levels he wanted at one of the best sixth form colleges around. Lessons were well prepared and personalised for exactly where he needed support. Thanks Angela! We couldn’t have done it without you
