About Andrew
I am an oil painter working in London. I have a studio in Wimbledon where I do my lessons and supplement my art practice facilitating acrylic painting workshops in central London. I hold a Master's in creative practice from Leeds Arts University and have plenty of experience in varied areas of art ranging from set design, curation, exhibition set up, portfolio creation and painting. I specialise in oil painting and teach various academic techniques ranging from the Venetian school to modernist and post-modern methods.

I like to use a hands-on approach demonstrating technical skills backed up by a good knowledge of the literature surrounding my subject and its contemporary applications. I encourage students to work alongside my practical examples and also go the extra mile to send further information to them such as reading lists and slides from my presentations.

Perfect! I had a really great two-hour lesson with Andrew, learning the steps to paint a face with oil paints. He explained everything step by step, which made it easy to follow and really enjoyable. Such a patient and easygoing teacher, and I came away feeling much more confident. A really great lesson!
