My teaching in the past has been aimed at passing the internationally recognised Common European Framework of Languages, GCSEs and A-Levels. My technique in engaging with students is to tailor each lesson plan according to them as an individual as far as is possible. I am aware of the many different ways in which students learn and I aim to not only appeal to their interest, but to teach in a manner which is the most effective for them.
I am a current Masters student with background in both teaching English as a foreign language and tutoring English students in literature on a one-on-one basis. I have been teaching for two years and have mainly been working in mixed ability classes, aged 6-16, with additional one-on-one support.

Charity: The English Heritage Trust (Audley End House)
Dates: 24/04/18-04/09/19 (seasonal)
Position: Historic Property Steward
Responsibilities: My role within English Heritage was incredibly versatile and public orientated. As a room steward it was my task to deliver the history of the house in a manner which was interesting and informative for all members of the public, with a large proportion being children. This is particularly true of our event days with many children of all ages being offered range of activities. I worked in many areas of the site s a house steward, shop floor assistant and selling admissions.
Business: CAPS Home to Home
Position: Assistant teacher
Responsibilities: My daily tasks included managing classrooms from the ages of 6-16, planning lessons, running speaking exams and leading classes of English, Science and Communication. Furthermore, I worked as a private tutor in this time aiming at teaching both the English language and culture. Due to this role I am at ease running multiple activities for children and able to multitask effectively.
Institution: The University of Exeter
Position: Research Intern
Responsibilities: Within this internship I was tasked with the daily running of a visitor centre for a local excavation. This included leading members of the public around the exhibitions and giving daily talks on the finds and the implications within scholarship. Furthermore, on multiple occasions I ran workshops for local primary schools, aiming to give them a better understanding of their local history. These workshops featured talks on multiple subjects as well as a range of interactive activities to maintain the interest of the children.
Skills and Experience
I am a current student at the University of Edinburgh working towards my Masters in Classical Art and Archaeology.
I have a variety of teaching experiences in teaching English, Spanish and history. I have have taught large mixed ability classes as well as one-on-one tutoring. Using a variety of techniques methodologies I have been able to ensure that my lessons are always well planned, interactive and memorable. Furthermore, I am a qualified TEFL teacher having completed the 140 hour course with a specialisation in the classroom experience and the advanced course with over a year of experience.
When working as a foreign language teacher I worked increasingly independently and became progressively more capable of working effectively when left to plan and deliver my own lessons. More recently, in my time as a property steward, I worked as a part of a large team, aiming at improving visitor learning experiences. I am more than capable of working in both capacities and I am able to collaborate with others to ensure that each individual child’s needs are being fully met.
