About James
I'm James, a Geography (BA) graduate from Durham University. I've been tutoring online for over 2 years and have delivered over 150 hours of private lessons. I've loved the diversity of my course and have enjoyed studying everything from the causes of natural disasters to the impacts of climate change on the Syrian civil conflict. I specialise more in human geography (specifically economic and cultural) but don't underestimate the importance of the physical side with my science background from school. I remember how challenging it was at school to really push my marks up into the top grade boundaries and appreciated the mentorship I received to make my university offer. Aside from my studies, I cycle, edit an online paper and organise large scale charity fundraising events.

My sessions aim to balance taught content and exam technique. In humanities subjects, it can be overwhelming to get your head around the facts and figures. I remember the transformation in my grades when I began to understand how to structure my answers in a better way to collect the marks. I'm familiar with the main exam boards including AQA and WJEC at GCSE and Edexcel and AQA A-level and aim to follow the exam specification closely to make sessions as relevant as possible. I aim to make tutorials as conversational and relaxed as possible with a key focus on enriching my tutee's understanding.
