About Christian
I am an experienced and passionate Geography educator with a proven track record of helping students achieve their full potential. With 7 years of teaching experience, including leadership as Head of Geography, and 5 years of private tutoring, I bring deep subject knowledge and an understanding of what examiners look for. I hold a PGCE with QTS from Bath Spa University and have extensive experience teaching AQA and Edexcel GCSE and A-Level specifications. Over the years, I’ve supported hundreds of students to improve their grades, gain confidence, and develop a genuine understanding of geographical concepts and case studies. My Approach to Tutoring I provide structured, engaging, and exam-focused lessons tailored to each student’s needs. My teaching style blends clear explanations, interactive questioning, and active recall strategies to build confidence and long-term understanding. Lessons typically start by revisiting prior knowledge, followed by new content and guided practice, and finish with exam-style questions to reinforce learning. I use cognitive science principles such as dual coding and retrieval practice, ensuring students not only understand the material but can apply it effectively under exam conditions. I also incorporate past paper analysis, model answers, and mark scheme breakdowns to improve exam technique. Lessons are usually 60 minutes, but I also offer 90-minute sessions for A-Level or intensive revision. I have 7 years of classroom teaching experience as Head of Geography and 5 years of tutoring experience, specialising in GCSE and A-Level Geography for AQA and Edexcel. I have successfully supported students from KS3 through to university entry, including those aiming for top grades and those needing targeted intervention. My sessions are ideal for students aged 11–18, whether they need structured revision, NEA guidance, or ongoing curriculum support.
