• 1) What age did you start?

  I started learning Bharatanatyam at the age of 6 but was dancing in my baby bouncer much before that!

  Indian folk styles of Garba and Bhangra

• 3) What gives you the motivation and passion to pursue dance?

  The freedom and joy of self-expression, and the powerful feeling of collective movement

• 4) Do you have a dance achievement that you're particularly proud of?

  Being part of the first all-female team to win a major UK Bhangra title at Bhangra Wars (and teaching my husband to dance!)

• 5) How have your achievements and challenges made you a better dance artist?

  Every dance style, choreography, and project has taught me something new and helped me grow as an artist. I am constantly pushing myself to improve my technique, particularly when faced with challenges. Working with diverse community groups has also strengthened my ability to break down movement into manageable steps and adapt choreography to suit different abilities, helping me become a more versatile, patient, and inclusive dance practitioner.

• 6) If you had to dance with a famous dancer, who would you choose?

  And what questions would you ask them? Madhuri Dixit - I would ask her all about her facial expressions

• 7) How do you help people stay motivated?

  I always create a supportive, positive environment where they can progress at their own pace. I break movements down into manageable steps, celebrate small achievements, and provide plenty of encouragement along the way. Whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced dancer, I tailor my choreography and teaching to your needs and make learning both enjoyable and rewarding.
