About Iain
I've been teaching Physics for 30 years, in the UK and internationally, including Kazakhstan and China. I have worked with students across a wide range of abilities and curricula including CIE, IB, Edexcel and AQA.
My background is classroom teaching and teacher training which means I understand how exams are set, what mark schemes reward, and how to prepare students realistically for what they'll face.
I am fully qualified with PGCE, NPQSL and hold a full international background check through Schrole Verify, cleared March 2026.
I work online, with flexible scheduling to suit Gulf, Asian, and European time zones.

My lessons focus on genuine understanding rather than exam technique alone. I start by finding out where each student is struggling, then work systematically through the gaps. Sessions are conversational — I ask questions, I listen, and I explain things multiple ways until they click.
A typical session combines concept work, worked examples, and past paper practice, paced to the student's needs. I work with all A-Level students including CIE, IB, and AQA syllabuses, from AS through to A2. I also work with students who have fallen behind after a change of teacher and need to catch up quickly.
With 30 years of experience I know the common sticking points — mechanics, electricity, quantum physics — and how to unpick them. Qualified teacher and Executive Coach: High expectations, genuine patience, and a calm approach to exam pressure.
