About Lea
I am a middle and high school special education teacher just outside of Nashville, Tennessee. I have taught in Tennessee for a total of six years, and I taught in California for one. In those seven years, I have taught: 6th grade Math and English; 7th grade Math, Science, and Social Studies; 8th grade Math, Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, English 1, and English IV. I also tutor for ACT prep outside of school.
I have Bachelors of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Masters of Arts in Education, Math Specialization from Austin Peay State University.

My teaching method is based on finding what works for the students. I do usually try to teach using traditional methods at first, but then I will find new ways to help students make connections to their learning. I also regularly attend conferences with other educators to stay informed of new and effective teaching strategies.
