I am flexible in terms of lesson delivery but ask that students come with a plan.
In Literature, this might be a particular text (drama, poetry and prose) or skill (analysing quotations, interpreting texts using critical perspectives, exploring contexts etc.). Students may choose to work on the content of their core texts alongside me, or focus on the quality of their written work through detailed exploration of mark schemes.
In Language, GCSE students may choose to focus on particular questions on their exam papers or specific skills (text analysis, creative writing etc.). A Level students may come with a plan to explore a particular topic (Language Diversity, Language Change, Child Language Development etc.) or skill (writing arguments, text analysis etc.).
In both cases, students may guarantee a strong focus on their particular exam board's expectations so that not a minute of the tuition is wasted.
