About Hannah
Hi! I’m Hannah, a certified South Carolina elementary teacher with seven years of classroom teaching experience. Throughout my career, I have taught reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and other foundational language arts skills while helping students become more confident communicators.
One of my favorite parts of teaching is helping students take ideas that may feel confusing or overwhelming and turn them into clear, organized writing. I understand that grammar and writing can be frustrating, especially when a student knows what they want to say but has difficulty putting it into words. I provide patient, encouraging guidance and explain corrections in a way that helps students understand and apply them in the future.
I have experience supporting students with different learning needs, ability levels, and levels of confidence. Whether a student needs help understanding grammar, organizing an essay, strengthening reading comprehension, completing an assignment, or proofreading a finished piece of writing, I meet them where they are and help them move forward.
I offer both virtual and in-person tutoring and strive to create a comfortable environment where students feel safe asking questions, making mistakes, and developing their skills.

Every student has different strengths, challenges, and goals, so I tailor each lesson to the individual rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach. I offer support in grammar, writing, reading comprehension, spelling, vocabulary, proofreading, editing, homework, and test preparation.
A typical lesson begins with a brief review and a conversation about the student’s current assignment or area of difficulty. From there, I provide clear instruction, model the skill, guide the student through practice, and give them an opportunity to apply what they have learned independently. For writing assignments, I can help students brainstorm, organize their ideas, strengthen their sentences and paragraphs, revise their work, and understand the reasons behind suggested corrections.
My goal is not simply to correct a student’s work for them. I want students to understand how to identify errors, communicate their ideas clearly, and become more confident and independent readers and writers.
I offer both virtual and in-person lessons. Tutoring is available for elementary and middle-school students who need ongoing academic support, homework assistance, skill-building, or help with specific writing assignments. I can also assist older students and adults with proofreading, editing, grammar, and improving the clarity of written work.
