I have experience of teaching students of all ages and adapt my teaching to meet the needs of the individual student. I use a range of techniques and methods to aid learning such as Growth mindset, cooperative learning, repetition and use a wide range of resources. I have a Masters in Education and have studied a range of techniques that can help learners.
My aim is to always put the tutee at ease and support their language learning journey.
I am a part time qualified teacher of French with 11 Years experience of teaching KS3 , GCSE and A Level qualifications. I have experience of tutoring students requiring help with set texts such as "Tartuffe , L`étranger , Un sac de billes and Le petit prince" required for A Level and also the speaking elements of A Level courses.
I am fully up to date with the new requirements of exam courses and undertake regular training with exam boards. I am trained in marking writing and speaking assessments and I mark for a major exam board.
All of my GCSE tutees gained grade A summer 2015 and my biggest success in 2016 was helping a student achieve a B in their AS resit after gaining a grade U the year before. In 2017 one of my tutees achieved her place at Oxford.
A French with German and Italian teacher, I have taught across the secondary age range up to Year 13. I have been involved in teaching PHSE to year 7 and 11 students as well as being part of the mentoring team. I have also had experience of teaching languages at KS2 level and at an adult learner level. I have had experience of helping business clients with the translation of work documents. I have regular contact with parents and outside speakers. I give presentations and deliver training to large groups of people. I am used to working to a deadline, being organised and use problem solving skills on a regular basis. I am familiar with IT software and teaching packages such as Kerboodle.

Responsible for teaching, planning and managing French and German lessons for Year 10,11 and 12, as well as some team teaching for year 13.

Responsible for planning and managing French lessons for Year 7, 8, as well as some Year 11 GCSE revision teaching. Teaching also KS3 German. Attached to Year 8 form group and attended Academic counselling and target setting day for Year 8.
Team Host Interpreter – The International Children’s’ games August 2005
Undertook the role of a volunteer team host for a team of young athletes and their delegates for the duration of the children’s’ games held in Coventry. Attended daily briefing meetings and was responsible for liaising with the coaches on a daily basis to keep them informed of event times and details. Had to be on hand day and night to deal with any problems that may arise. Was also responsible for collecting the team from London and moving them into accommodation at the University of Warwick.

Involved in the Warwick Volunteers and Coventry LEA Pathfinder project. Worked with year 5 and 6 pupils to promote language learning within primary schools. Worked with a member of the staff to teach basic French in order to ease the transition from primary to secondary school. Undertook research and preparation to create lessons accessible to young children.
Language assistant Sept 2003-April 2004
Spent an academic year living and working in France as part of degree. Taught English on a daily basis to children from the ages of 11 – 18. Undertook private tuition to experience teaching older pupils. Learnt the importance of reliability, time management and preparation in order to make lessons as varied as possible. Gained a useful insight into the daily workings of a school and integrated well into the existing staff team. Improved language and communication skills.
French – English volunteer interpreter July- Aug 2004
Two week volunteer work at the annual “festival Interceltique de Lorient”. Took responsibility for a singer and worked closely with her to facilitate her participation at the music festival. Was relied upon to translate important information and be on hand at performances in the case of language problems. Liaised with the festival staff to organise travel arrangements and finalise rehearsal and performance times. Had to cope with a hectic schedule and give on-the-spot translations.
