About Hannah
I’m a certified Social Studies teacher with over 10 years of classroom experience and a Master’s degree in Inclusive Education. I have taught students across middle and high school and have experience supporting a wide range of learning styles and academic needs.
My background includes Social Studies, History, reading comprehension, academic writing, essay writing, and study skills. I’m passionate about helping students understand challenging material, build confidence, and develop skills they can use independently.
Whether a student needs help catching up, preparing for an upcoming assessment, improving their writing, or simply wants additional support, I provide a patient, supportive, and personalized learning experience.

I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and working through challenges without feeling judged. I break down complex ideas into manageable steps, use real-world examples, and adjust my instruction based on how each student learns best.
Each lesson begins with a quick check-in to identify what the student already understands and where they need support. We then focus on the specific skill or concept for the day, working through examples together before transitioning to guided and independent practice. I use questioning, discussion, modeling, and frequent checks for understanding to make sure the student is truly grasping the material rather than simply memorizing an answer. We end by reviewing what was learned and identifying what to work on next.
As a tutor, I focus not only on helping students complete an assignment, but on helping them develop the skills and confidence to become more independent learners.
I primarily work with late elementary, middle school and high school students, particularly students who need support with:
Social Studies and History
Reading comprehension
Academic writing and essay writing
Research and source analysis
Study skills and organization
Understanding complex texts and assignments
Students who benefit from additional structure, scaffolding, or individualized instruction
I also welcome students who simply want to strengthen their academic skills, improve their confidence, or get ahead in their coursework.
