About Meghan
I have been an English second language teacher for almost 6 years and have found immeasurable joy from helping others. Having turned to private tutoring in 2021, my hope is to better focus lessons and classroom experience to the needs of the student.
I have a great deal of experience teaching children ages 6 to 16 and enjoy the depth of focus and discussion gained from teaching adults. Throughout my time as an ESL teacher, I have built many, genuine connections with students, some of whom I have come to see as friends.
I have taught for a number of online teaching companies namely, iTutorGroup, IQBar, SayABC and Dazao English. I always approach my lessons with a great deal of preparation, excitement and readiness to adapt to the student. Due to my extensive work experience outside of teaching, I am always professional in how I carry myself and in how I manage my lessons and my the needs of my students.

I am an adaptable teacher, engaging my students and the content in a natural manner. We use real-world activities, situations so students can learn how to engage with the world in the target language. In this way, you learn to express your thoughts, ideas and feelings more readily and confidently.
Lessons for students aged 6 to 14 are either 30 minutes or 45 minutes and lessons for those aged 15 and up are either 40 minutes or 55 minutes long.
I have over 5 years online teaching experience and attained my TEFL certificate in 2016. I have thoroughly enjoyed growing as a teacher and improving the service I provide to my students. I have completed two certificates from Cambridge University Press; that has significantly improved my ability to engage my student and adapt to their needs as well as improve their understanding of language usage.
