My teaching method is tailored to the needs of each individual student. I draw on my training at Drama Centre London - a methodological approach stemming from Stanislavski. I respond to the student's best working styles whilst offering teaching in skills and methods that will be useful down the line.
I am an experienced tutor with several years' experience working with young people and adults in a variety of educational contexts. I am a skilled drama practitioner who is adept at drawing out the best in students in preparation for practical exams, youth theatre and drama school auditions or generally improving in public speaking and conversational English. I have a dynamic, friendly, confidence boosting approach and tailor my teaching to each individual.
I am an associate of the National Youth Theatre, frequently running their auditions, masterclasses and training courses. I am an associate director for National Theatre Connections and a mentor for the child playwright scheme Scene and Heard. I tutor for Open Door. I have taught and directed productions at leading UK drama schools and worked professionally at major theatre institutions such as the National Theatre and Young Vic.
I charge £30 p/h. We can discuss the best location for your lessons - if this will require hiring a space (which I can organise) or me travelling to your home, there may be additional costs to cover this. I am understanding and fair so we can work out the best way of arranging sessions based on your circumstances and budget.

Good! Cancelled on the day of the first lesson. Got back in contact a couple of weeks later, but by that time I'd found someone else.
Alice is a highly skilled and experienced artist. Having worked with her professionally several times she has a great sensitivity to both the subject matter as well as those she works with, which in acting is invaluable. Her training at Drama Centre London means she has a working knowledge of acting from a practical and director's standpoint. In addition she's warm and approachable, which can make a huge difference!
I've worked with Alice twice in recent years. She's a fantastic director, great at getting the best out of her cast. Sociable, professional and a joy to work with.
Alice has tutored me this year with speeches for my auditions for drama schools. She is extremely patient and encouraging and really helped me to build confidence in myself this year. Alice is such a joy to work with as she keeps the perfect balance between being professional and being a friend. Alice offers so much as a director. She gave me endless new ways to approach monologues even ones that had begun to feel stale preparing me for whatever was thrown at me in various rounds at recalls for drama school. Whatever the outcome of this year I will be sure to keep in contact with her.
