Hi my name is Lurie and I have been teaching for 13 years, 5 as a private tutor. I believe the best way to learn is when students are having fun so my teaching style is rooted play. Whether studying math, science, history, writing, learning to read, or studying classic literature, I develop ciriculmns based on what will spark curiosity in my students.
I received my Masters in Theatre Education at Emerson College and am a MTS candidate at Boston College School of Theology and Ministry. In my research I have focused on how games and storytelling teach us about the world, our beliefs, and culture. At Emerson I studying early childhood and elementary education, and have experience teaching in both public and private schools K-8th grade.

I believe the best way to engage a student is to start where they are at. On the first day i will focus on getting to know what they are Interested in investigating. Utilizing their innate curiosity I then develope a curriculum that will serve their education needs. This may look like a collection of math games, exciting challenges, or digging deeper into a topic then a traditional classroom allows.
