About Leslie
I am a veteran educator. My career in public education spanned 38 years. I was a classroom teacher for elementary students, a special education teacher for intellectually gifted students in elementary, middle and high school, and I ran a tutoring center for students in middle and high school. I have taught or tutored students in two states, three school distsricts, and 15 schools.
I love school, learning, and students. I especially enjoy tutoring because it allows me to work with students individually and to enjoy a flexible schedule.
Bachelor's degree in Education from Samford University, Birmingham, Alabama.
Master's degree in Special Education for Intellectually Gifted students, University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Public educator in Alabama from 1980-2011. Taught in 2 school systems, 15 different schools, grades 2-12.
Coordinator of a tutoring center at Signal Mountain Middle High School, Signal Mountain, TN from 2011-2019.
I have tutored elementary-high school students in multiple subjects: Elementary math, science, social studies, and language arts; Middle school math, science, algebra and English; High school algebra 1 and 2, Geometry, Trigonometry, SAILS math, government, history, physical science, and some writing.
