About Mutesi
I am a dedicated and experienced English tutor who is passionate about helping students build confidence and achieve their academic goals. I take a professional, organised, and supportive approach to every lesson, ensuring that students feel comfortable, motivated, and challenged at the right level.
My teaching style is structured but flexible. I take time to understand each student’s strengths, areas for improvement, and learning goals before tailoring lessons to suit their needs. I explain concepts clearly, encourage questions, and focus on steady progress. Whether the goal is exam success, improved writing, or greater fluency in spoken English, I work patiently with students to help them gain confidence in their abilities.
Lessons typically last 60 minutes and are well planned, with clear objectives and a short review at the end to reinforce learning. I use a combination of explanation, guided practice, and discussion to ensure students fully understand what they are learning and how to apply it independently.
I am currently a Biomedical Science student, which has strengthened my academic discipline, critical thinking, and written communication skills. Alongside my studies, I have experience tutoring and supporting learners, and I bring professionalism, reliability, and strong organisational skills to every session.
My lessons are suitable for GCSE students, ESL learners, and adult students who wish to improve their English for academic or everyday use. I work with teenagers and adults and adapt my teaching to suit different learning styles and confidence levels

My approach to tutoring is student-centred, supportive, and structured. I believe that learning English should feel clear and encouraging rather than overwhelming. I adapt my teaching style to each student’s needs, focusing on building confidence while strengthening grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, and speaking skills.
In my lessons, I use a mix of guided explanations, practical examples, discussion, and targeted practice. For exam-focused students, I break down questions, mark schemes, and common mistakes, while for ESL learners I prioritise fluency, comprehension, and real-life communication. I regularly check understanding and adjust the pace to suit the learner.
A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes, but this can be adapted depending on the student’s goals and concentration level. Each session is structured with clear objectives and ends with a short recap to reinforce learning.
I am an experienced tutor and currently a Biomedical Science student, which has strengthened my academic writing, critical thinking, and ability to explain complex ideas clearly.
