About Max
As a full-time student and recent graduate from the Parsons Fine Art's department, I strive to make arts education accesible and help others develop their artistic practices. I see making as not only a mode of self-expression, but also a method of expanding ones understanding of themself and the world around them. Refinement of ones artistic style and habits can improve their perceptive abilities and lead them to a more fullfilling life. I aim to work with students to gelp them articulate what they want out of their artistic practice and help them achieve those goals, using both technical skills and historical/theoretical art references.
Whether a student wants to persue abstract painting, comicbook artwork, realism from life, or any other form of visual work I hope to offer them training in the skills which will lay the groundwork for any development they would like to see.
During my time as an art student, I have developed an understanding of what is important if one is interested in persuing an arts education. While I believe in art as something which is present in all facets of life, I am most familiar with assisting those who are trying to develop a college portfolio or would like assistance in their courses. I feel strongly that the key to improvment is practice and enjoyment of that practice; art is an expression of an experience, and to create something is to work through an experience completely and arrive at a clarified understanding. I like to do hands on work with my students in the way that helps them best to thrive, whether that's by getting our hands dirty or providing them with resources for their own research.
