About Haley
I am a very passionate and hard worker who enjoys being able to educate. I am currently a senior who will be done with all of my coursework in May 2020. I have experience within the education field in that I have an education minor and through working in education departments. I was a biology 2 mentor for five semesters where I assisted the students with their learning of examining the diversity of the major prokaryotic and eukaryotic lineages through their investigations using taxonomy, anatomy, physiology, behavior, ecology, and evolution. I have also been involved with the education departments at the Greater Cleveland Aquarium, the Florida Aquarium, and the Clearwater Marine Aquarium (CMA). At the Greater Cleveland Aquarium I was an intern where I gave tours to school aged kids teaching them about the biodiversity of freshwater and saltwater life, made a turtle vs. tortoise lesson plan, and updated their shark program. At the Florida Aquarium I was a volunteer where I educated guests of all ages about the animals in the touch pools. At CMA I was a volunteer on their Sea Life Safari boat tours where I learned about the ecosystem while being able to answer guests questions. I am now currently an intern with CMA where I give 90 minute boat tour narrations on their Sea Life Safari boat tour and the Dolphin Adventure Tour, I create lesson plans, and educate guests around the aquarium. I truly do love being able to teach people so that they can understand what they didn't know before which is why I would like to be a tutor.
