About Deepa
I taylor my teaching to each individual student. Although there are basic methods which are standard, each person is individual in their approach to Art. I look to see and understand how each person executes their creativity so that I can teach my students how they can leverage the skills they learn to their own personal style.
Art is a part of my living life. I see everything as art. Seeing all things as art creates attachment and detachment. Art is a life force that keeps me fueled for life.
I have been an artist since 5th grade, so I guess you could say that’s where my career started. I’ve been painting with oils since 2004. I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting and Photography, along with a minor in 20th Century Modern Art History, from Rutgers University in New Jersey. I also hold a Master of Fine Arts degree from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. I have three years of classical training. I also have experience in marketing art pieces, so I can help you market your art too.

"We begin with a telephone interview to ensure that both the teacher and student are a good fit for each other. During this meeting, the student will have the opportunity to present any of their work, and we will engage in a few exercises to assess their current skill level. Based on this initial assessment, I will tailor the subsequent lessons to best suit the student’s individual needs and goals."
