About Susan

Making art is exciting, imaginative, and fun--and work too. You can watch yourself grow and be proud. I am an expert in guiding students through their individual processes, so that they achieve personalized success and results. I have been a college art teacher since 1970, and am currently teaching at Otis College of Art and Design. I started learning drawing, just like everyone else, and now my artwork is highly imaginative. See it on my website: susanjosepherart.net

Susan Josepher. Ph.D.

I love to see students' faces when they "get it". It's like a light going on with big smiles.I have been teaching for more than 30 years, and seeing those glowing smiles of understanding are simply the very best.

Ph.D. in designing art curriculum for K-12 art education. Years of drawing and painting at Brooklyn Museum Art School, New School in Manhattan. University of Denver.

Years of teaching drawing and painting to students 5 to 95.

About the lesson

Invite the student to show me their work, so I can assess their stage of development. Discuss their goals and time table. Discuss who they admire as a professional.

Begin with short, fun exercises as a warming up time. Proceed to short success-oriented assignments
