About Mónica
I have a wide variety of fine arts experience and understand the requirements for both IB and AP. I have studio space to work on projects and I am able to travel or meet students at fine arts and research venues.
I taught high school art and was trained in IB DP fine arts.
I can help with research, evaluation, brainstorming, organizing, portfolio building, exhibition curation, comparative studies, etc.
I have been an artist for most of my life and after 20 years of working in Human Resources while teaching art our if my home I decided to train to be a teacher. I went through alternative certification training in 2015.
i have studied and applied art for over 35 years. I taught high school art and have gone through the IB DP teacher training in 2017.

i have worked with all ages teaching art skills and middle/high school for art theory and history.
I know that fine arts can seem like an easy grade but as one gets higher up in classes, it can become quite challenging. With the workload put on students in core classes it can feel easy to let Art go or do the minimum. It can also be difficult to tap into your creativity in order to do your best work.
If you are interested in creating an amazing portfolio, needing help in preparation for exams, or lost on curating an exhibition, I can help.
Also, for IB DP students: your teacher can only review your CS once. If you need more help, I can provide that.
I am also available for preparing portfolios and for art school interviews.
I recently had the chance to visit my friend’s elementary school art club and teach printmaking. It was so much fun and I loved seeing the kids learn the techniques and apply them.

Details
Consultation and interview is free if hired. A $20 deposit is refundable if client decides to work with me.
studio work, research help, exam prep, etc is $28/hr
Evaluation/grade approximation, CS review, etc.: $20/hr or $40/piece if it takes between 2 and 5 hours to evaluate.
