About Lindsey
*10+ years experience in Training/Teaching: WordPress, Web Development, Instructional Design, Graphic Design, Drupal, UI / UX, in both Higher Education and the corporate world.*
As a professional designer, I've worked with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign since 1998. I have a current teaching certificate, NJ Certificate of Eligibility K-12 (Art), and have also trained/taught in Higher Education and the corporate world, since 1998,
For 8 years, I served as an Adjunct Professor, on campus and online, creating course curriculum, content, and teaching a range of subjects, including: all Adobe Creative Cloud programs, Graphic and Web Design and Development, Photography, and Fine and Studio Arts. I have also run my own business, using these skills, since 2007.
In the corporate world, outside of my business, I worked in Learning and Development, and Training, in various positions including: supervisory roles, subject matter expert, training and coordinator, administration, development, design, content creation, and consultancy.
I am experienced in: a range of creative digital media, web development tools, current industry standards, learning and development, Instructional Design, training methodologies, UI/UX, AGILE environments, project management, and coordination/management best practices.
Though I started out at a very different place from where I am now, I came to a point in my life where I was completely fascinated with modern day communication. I do not like to limit myself and I am always telling my students that it is important to never stop learning.
I have almost a decade of experience in teaching computer programs online (particularly Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign) to a varied group of students, coming from a range of backgrounds, including: adults, veterans, students with disabilities, college students, homeschool students, and students with English as a second language.
Though it was not my major, I enjoyed taking several Psychology courses in college. I am a flexible, adaptive person, who can "go with the flow", and I used this knowledge to find the best methods to connect with students, regardless of their background.
During the 8 years I spent as an Adjunct Professor, where I taught both online and on campus, part of my job was creating courses (curriculum, lesson plans, etc.) in: Graphic Design, Web Design, Photography, and Fine Art/Studio Art.
Also, I am a "true artist". I am always creating, whether I am working digitally, or "getting my hands dirty" creating mixed media sculptures.
