About Nikolai
Hello there! My name is Niko and I am a ParaEducator with Ann Arbor School District. I am looking to make some additional income and have decided to take up tutoring. I am friendly, communicative, personable and understanding. I have 5+ years experience in the field of education, and am working towards getting my teaching degree through Eastern Michigan University. I enjoy working with kids and helping them to learn and grow as people. It is a special priviliege in my life to be able to help these children develop both as students and as individuals, and I take a certain pride in that.
I have 5+ years experience working as a Teaching Assistant/ParaProfessional, in addition to having completed a 10 month service contract with AmeriCorps. I am also pursuing teaching certification through Eastern Michigan University.

I like to chit-chat for a few minutes, start to establish some familiarity and trust. It can be hard to trust a new stranger, even in an educational capacity, and I try to have that understanding for my students. After an introductory period, we then assess our work for the day (i.e the subject covered, specific assignments, etc.)
