About Leila
Hello! I've been a tutor for five years, starting out in a middle school program where eighth graders mentor younger grades, and moving on to tutoring peers in high school with essays for college and helping them with test preparation. I have also worked as a camp counselor for five years, working with kids in K-12. I have experience helping people of all ages and am sure to create a safe and non-judgemental learning environment!
I attended a STEM middle school and enrolled in AP classes in high school, as well as being involved in T.A.D and FBLA. I have been helping my peers and those around me with their schoolwork my whole life, so I have lots of practice! Currently, I'm working with a student on my college campus who recently moved here from Taiwan on her essays and other papers.

Typically I like sitting down with a new student and getting a feel for where their strengths and weaknesses lie within a given subject, talking to them about what they struggle with and sometimes even looking over samples of work to get a better idea of how to help them.
