About Tamela
I am a 21 year veteran teacher. I currently teach with Douglas County Schools. I have experience teaching language arts and social studies. I love children and I love teaching. I like tutoring in English, grammar, spelling, reading strategies, and writing. I want to help your students achieve their highest potential. I am here to help!
I have always wanted to be a teacher. I started teaching in Maryland back in 2002.
I have a bachelors degree in middle grades education. I have a masters degree in post secondary education and a specialist degree in educational leadership. I also have a gifted endorsement. I have taught middle school social studies, language arts and writing for 18 years.

Perfect! Mrs. Dixon is very passionate in what she do! She been working with my son for a couple of months now and I see a huge improvement in his reading. She provided him something that his teacher couldn’t! She has a gift she bond with the kids and make them comfortable to open up and learn without been shy. I highly recommend Mrs. Dixon you want be disappointed!

Very knowledgeable and supportive of learning process.
She was very patient. She worked with my daughter twice a week and she knew her content. She continues to check my daughter till this day.
I loved that Ms. Dixon was very thorough with my son. She was able to move my son's reading level up 2 grade levels. She worked with him during the summer and he loved her.
