About Roxanne
I am passionate about student successes large and small. The smallest of victories are the stepping stones to larger success, and when I work with students, I urge them to see each step forward as a significant accomplishment.
My approach to tutoring and teaching is to leverage each student's experiences and strengths in order to encourage them to develop unique and personally effective problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
I have several years of experience as a tutor, and even more experience as an instructor of introductory writing at the University of Connecticut, where I have also taught advanced, university-level literature courses.
I earned my B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, double majoring in English and History. I recieved my Master's degree in Literature and Society: Enlightenment, Romantic, and Victorian from the University of Edinburgh. I have most recently successfully completed my Ph.D. from the University of Connecticut in English Literature.
As an experienced educator, I believe the relationship between educators and students should be one of teamwork and collaboration. I am excited to work with your student!
