About Ashlyn
Hello! I am a recent graduate from Cornell University who is looking to tutor students in reading, writing, and elementary math. I specialize in essay writing, and I am happy to help students write their college essays. I am also happy to work with students in other areas such as public speaking. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me!
I have tutored elementary school children when I was in high school, but since then I have done more informal work with my peers. I have served as the go-to essay and email editor for both my friends and my peers. As English, writing, and the humanities have always been my strong suits, I am very comfortable working with students who struggle in these areas.

By speaking with the students' parent(s) and establishing which goals are important to them, both short-term and long-term, I can get a sense of what the student needs. Once I have done this, I will familiarize myself with the student's coursework, and through the initial few sessions I will evaluate what areas the student finds challenging. From there sessions can be more tailored to the student's exact needs. I will regularly check in with the parent to ensure that the student feels that I am a good fit for them and that both the parent and the child feel they are benefitting from my mentorship.

Details
I will charge $20/hour per session for the first five sessions, and then, if the family decides to continue lessons with me, my rate will rise to $23/hour.
