About Schuyler
I'm a firm believer in meeting my students where they're at – while I might be the tutor, I know that I'm always learning, too. I want to understand your unique needs and goals, and I'll craft an individualized learning experience that draws on your child's skills, interests, and strengths. Everybody has a gift, and I'll work with your child to help use those gifts, so that they can grow as a thinker, learner, and doer!
I still remember all of the educators who have made me who I am today – I'm even Facebook friends with my kindergarten teacher! Now, I want to give back by inspiring the next generation of leaders. Lately, it seems like we've all been talking about how we're living in strange and uncertain times. The world can be a scary place, but every day I am inspired by the young people that are lighting the way forward. I specialize in English & writing services because I'm passionate about inspiring children and teens to find, develop, and USE their own, unique voice.
I have a Bachelor of Arts in English & Media Studies from Pomona College, where I graduated in the top 10% of my class.
I'm also a volunteer tutor with 826LA, which is a nonprofit in Echo Park focused on teaching reading and writing to underprivileged children and teens.
