About Amanda
Learning online is hard. With recent school closures and the switch to online schooling, students and parents likely need a little extra help. I am an ASU graduate with a degree in English and experience working for Mesa Public Schools as a tutor. I am available all day for online tutoring and can help middle school through undergraduate students with grammar and rhetoric, literature, essay planning and writing, and more.
My favorite thing about being a tutor is connecting with the kids I help and seeing them improve each week. It's rewarding to see grades improve and to hear, "wow, I understand the way you explained that!" English and writing have been a passion of mine since I was young and I would love to continue extending my knowledge to students whose strengths lie elsewhere.

A new student can expect me to ask to see their class materials, including notes and reading material. Depending on what the student is struggling with, I may also ask to see past assignments. But every situation is different and I intend to tailor my method to the individual. Going over class material and noting where the student is stuck is the easiest way to find the problem.
