About Beamlak
I am patient, funny, and practical. I meet students where they're at and encourage them to practice self-confidence. It can make all the difference.
I have a passion for empowering students and helping them love learning.
I am a graduate of Hall High School (West Hartford, CT) and have a BA in Creative Writing with a concentration in nonfiction) and minor in Spanish from the University of Chicago.
I have an extensive background as a journalist.

I always start out learning about the students I work with beyond who they are on their reportcard or in the classroom. As a strong believer in teaching whith a wholeistic approach, I value each students strengths and obstacles.
Once establishing learning goals and reviewing learning style, (or deciding to disover it as we go!) we dive right in.
