About Lucas
I combine a strong record of academic excellence (Dean's List, AP Scholar with Distinction, National Council of Teachers of English Writing Award Winner) with interpersonal skills honed as an actor and director, meaning I don't just instruct my students - I engage with them and bring their lessons to life. I've worked teaching a variety of subjects to students of all ages: elementary schoolers learning pre-algebra, fellow college students working on structuring their papers, and even adult professionals seeking to improve their knowledge of Photoshop. I tutored younger kids for years as a high schooler, continued coaching my peers as an upperclassman in college, and worked as a graphic design and film editing software instructor during semester breaks. I'm not just here to instruct - I'm here to inspire.
I've loved learning from an early age, and nothing thrills me more than sharing that passion with others. Seeing the look on a student's face when they finally grasp a difficult concept gives me tremendous satisfaction. Tutoring means making a very real difference in someone's life - changing the way they see the world, or even the way they see themselves. Watching a student's confidence in a subject grow over the course of their lessons is the greatest reward I could imagine.
