About Katie
Hey, I'm Katie! I am newly out of high school and waiting for all of the COVID drama to die down before continuing college. In High School, I was able to complete 8 college-level classes, become a member of NEHS, Compete as a Varsity Debater, and Qualify to compete Internationally in my school's DECA (Business/ Marketing Club) twice. I took my Senior year online, so I understand and have navigated the challenges of online schooling. I honestly feel like I can help struggling students not only by getting them caught up now but by showing them the resources and skills that I needed.
I worked in a lot of peer groups in High School, where we would help eachother in curriculum we struggled in. I found myself mostly helping out with more difficult english (such as poetry and Shakespeare) and note formatting for the most part. I have also spent a ton of time helping my cousins with their homework.

I like to start with an assessment of what is getting a student stuck. Most of the time a student is struggling because school is the problem, not the curriculum. Whether it be that they need help learning to take notes, organize, or find the best way to use their learning style to their advantage.
