About Maya
I have a real passion for helping others especially when it comes to writing creatively and thinking outside of the box, and I love studying the different elements of literature that goes beyond just reading the book. I am currently a Junior at St.Charles North Highschool and I am taking AP Language and Composition. I am also apart of the National English Honors Society as well as the Writing and Reading Center, an in school tutoring program designed to help students with all things English! Whether it's writing a literary analysis on English classic or writing a slam poem, I, and my other colleagues are there to help other students reach their full potential. I've been taking Honors and Advanced Placement English classes since my Freshman year, so I have plenty of experience when it comes to focusing on different aspects of understanding literature.
I find great joy in not in not only helping my students be successful, but seeing them use their knowledge to help someone else who may be struggling.
I am currently a Junior at St. Charles North Highschool and am currently taking AP Language and Composistion, and I am a also a Writing Consultant for the Writing and Reading Center; an in-school tutoring program for all English students. My Freshman year I took English 9 Honors and my Sophomore year I took English 10 Honors. I am also apart of the National English Honors Society

First I would ask them what their strengths are, and harvest those so that I can get the best out of them. Then I'll ask the student to go through the work with me and observe what he/she is struggling with. I never want to ask them what their weaknesses are because I feel like students learn more when they see their mistakes in action.
