About Jalen
This service stands out for its true commitment to its students. My goal, in tutoring, is to empower each of my students with the tools to become the person of their greatest ambition.
In addition to helping students meet their academic goals, I believe in promoting self-confidence through knowledge, insights, and education.
Being a small part in a person's journey is something that I truly take pride in. I love to see my students progress, both academically and personally.
I love to see their excitement when they get an "A" on the class they were struggling in, the joy when a difficult concept finally clicks, and the validation they get when they see their hard work finally lead to tangible gains.
I got started teaching four years ago, during my freshman year in college. My first students were in a public elementary school. After bonding with them and seeing their academic progress, I was inspired to continue tutoring throughout each of my college years.
Education is so valuable. I am passionate about educating my students and preparing them to achieve their greatest ambitions.
I am a class of 2020 graduate from Syracuse University. Throughout my college career, I worked in schools as a tutor for three years.
I have direct experience teaching kindergarteners, middle schoolers, high schoolers, as well as English-language learners.
I have witnessed tremendous academic improvement in my past students and look forward to continuing to teach the youth.

Each student is an individual on their own unique journey. I believe that all tutors must acknowledge this before making the teaching commitment.
Every student has their own strengths, interests and will learn at their own pace. That said, the first step, for me, is to take time to truly understand my students on a personal and academic level.
After getting a clear understanding of the student, I'll work with them to develop an action plan, with clear steps on how to reach whatever goals they aspire to.
After understanding my students and clearly defining their goals, my role as a tutor is to aid them along the route they set for themselves. Providing insights, assistance, and most of all, encouragement, along the way.
