About Vinod
I am Vinod Anantha Raj and I am currently a Medical Student at our very own, prestigious National University of Malaysia, better known as UKM. As far as I can remember, English has been one of the things that has come naturally to me, whether it be reading, speaking, or writing a piece of material. And as such, it has been a great boon to me in many ways, whether it be to communicate or score well in an exam. Therefore, at multiple instances in my life, I have been asked to guide my peers, my juniors, and others to improve their command of the language, and that is why I would like to bring it to the next level, and reach out to more people and help others out there.

I believe in learning by doing, so lessons will be highly interactive and engaging, designed to make students have fun and learn at the same time, to make them more outgoing and confident about speaking up in front of a crowd and being able to hold their own. Students will also be guided on study techniques such as the Pomodoro Technique, efficient note-taking techniques, focus sessions, etc. to make learning much more effective and progressive. (this can be applied to any other subjects too) The duration of the lesson varies on students' needs and comfort. Generally, a student with a lower degree of proficiency may require a longer time, and a student who catches on quicker will need shorter lessons. But at the same time, students may not feel comfortable attending lessons in a single extended time and may benefit from multiple, shorter lessons. I initially started being a source of reference for my peers in school mainly for written English and then spoken English, and I was requested to tutor my juniors, and that has continued since. In terms of proficiency and qualifications, I have scored distinction for 5 consecutive years on the University of New South Wales ICAS papers and a distinction in my form 5 Cambridge 1119 English as well as a Band 5 in MUET. Besides, I also have vast experience in competitions such as storytelling, public speaking, and debating from primary school all the way up to university. I am able to teach any student from the age of 3 upwards till about 18 years old, to prep them for anything from reading picture books to writing a polished essay.
