About Alysia
As a certified social studies teacher, my fields of specialization include but are not limited to-political science, media studies/current events, civics/government, pysycology, sociology, geography, and all periods of history- Ancient, Post-Classical, and Modern. My tutoring sessions are custom designed to meet each student’s specific learning goals/assignments, as well as all state /BOE standards for their grade level. Pupils enjoy autonomy when it comes to demonstration of learning based on their interests-mixed media, theater, a podcast.... Skies the limit down here on earth!?!?!
Creativity, big picture thinking, and student interest shape my methodologies in the courses I design.. My own graduate thesis, for instance, was on the macabre (dark/sinister) side of fashion- a historiography of the ever changing beauty standards that shape our self identity and the symbiotic relationship between garments, the sociocultural zeitgeist and the world stage.....did you know that men were the first ones to wear 👠 heels?!?!
