About Poorna
Hello! I am a UCLA graduate with 6 years of tutoring experience. I have tutored and mentored kids ranging from preschool age all the way up to high school and college students. I have experience tutoring in math, English and history. In particular, I excel at helping students in writing essays and in reading.

I discuss with the student what they need help in, what they’re confident about, and why they feel they need a tutor. This helps me understand the needs of the student so that I can best help them. I take a look at what their current capabilities are, and where they need an extra push and help to bridge those gaps so that they can succeed.
I’ve worked with all ages, ranging from preschoolers to middle schoolers to high schoolers.
