About Sionna
At WAY Christian Academy, Polka-dot Ministries in Newark, NJ, we are dedicated and certified teachers to empower students through personalized education. With a focus on individual growth. Our expert tutors offer tailored sessions with structure and strategy in reading, writing, math, literature, social sciences, ESL, and science, as well as GED preparation. We also specialize in test prep and providing homeschooling support, including special needs education. Our small, committed team ensures that each student receives the attention, and encouragement they need to succeed academically and gain confidence in their abilities. Director, Shonna Huezo, has a bachelor’s degree in English elementary and special education teacher certifications, and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership (Principal and Supervisor certification) from The Pennsylvania State University, St. Peter’s College, and Montclair State University, respectively. Shonna has 20+ years of teaching experience in two, NJ public school districts, which includes grades PreK-12th grade in Special Education in both inclusion and resource (pull-out) settings.
