About Mary
I have been in education for 20+ years as a teacher, homeschooler, assistant principal and new teacher trainer. I have taught elementary, middle school and high school in the subjects- ELA, Reading, Writing and Social Studies. For the past few years, I have been teaching at an online public school.
My teaching philosophy is that we need to give the students a reason to learn and the tools to learn, so they become life-long learners. In today's world, that requires not just teaching the curriculum but also the ability to discern and critically think and make decisions.
As a tutor, I will determine where your student is and what areas they need support so they can be successful. I have taught reading and writing for many years and know that flexibility and adaptability are key to meeting each student where they are.
I would love to be a part of your child's learning journey and help them become their confident selves.
