About Kristian
Throughout my 4 years of experience serving as an instructor, mentor, tutor & coordinator I have worked with a diverse group of students & collaborated with a variety of education professionals. My specific experience includes teaching abstinence education classes to middle school students, coordinating after school programs for elementary students & serving as a tutor/mentor for high school students. I have learned how to tailor instruction to meet a student's individual needs as well as provide recommendations to improve student progress. The recent events involving COVID-19 have provided me with experience holding online instruction. I have used a combination of email messaging & various video platforms to keep open communication between students, parents & professional staff. For the past 2 months I have provided tutoring, delivered instruction & addressed performance concerns in a 100% online environment. I am open to adjusting my rate depending on age & subject needs.
I struggled in math growing up but there were people along the way who helped me see the beauty in it. I want to give other people the opportunity to develop a love for math. I enjoy watching people excell in something that used to be so challenging for them.
I have a bachelors degree in applied mathematics.

I like to get a gauge for their learning style then look at their past assignments to get an idea of pain points. Lastly, I develop a course of action for how to eliminate those pain points and improve their confidence when introduced to new material.
