About Rebecca
I am a graduate student in biological sciences with experience tutoring in math, science, and English. I'm able to provide grammar and editing assistance on essays and papers. I'm also able to assist throughout the writing process for essays and projects. I'm able to provide real-world application examples as well teach about current research studies in sciences to truly make it interesting.
A family friend needed help to boost her daughter's confidence in reading after she was deemed dyslexic and I realized I had a natural knack for it then.
I have a Bachelors Degree in Marine Biology and am working on a Master's Degree in Biological Sciences. I have a large understanding of both science and math because of the numerous courses I've had to take in both. I'm also experienced in essay editing, writing process assistance, and grammar help. I have also tutored young dyslexic students in reading and writing. In addition, I worked as a teaching assistant a private high school's media center for 2 and a half years which has allowed me to excel in research.

I like to get a grasp on what they're studying in school and how their teacher is teaching. Then I like to talk about them to see what their struggles are (note taking, concept grasp, memorization, etc) and how I can assist in tackling them. I like to build up a student's confidence in a subject by helping them utilize their strengths to achieve.
Elementary, Middle, and High School students and additionally some teaching and tutoring for college students as well.
I would have them consider what is most important to them. If they need connections to the real world or real-world examples in science, someone who has worked or done research in the field would be a better choice than someone who has only taught in schools.
I have recently been accepted to present my master's research at a large national conference in June.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
They should be asking themselves what particularly within the topic they do not understand. If their lack of understanding is based purely on not knowing memorizable facts, they should first memorize those facts. If they're having difficulty because of a previous topic they didn't fully grasp, they first need to work on the previous topic.

Pricing depends on the student, the subject, and the amount of help needed. Typically I charge about $15 per hour of tutoring, with an increase if the student is learning challenged or exceptionally difficult to work with.
