About Abbie
I am a high school math teacher and I love teaching math! I love looking for new ways to explain concepts and working through difficult content so every student can feel successful as a mathematician!
I've been teaching math for 4 years and have tutored students in math for 7. I've worked one on one with students and in small groups. I have a masters degree in educational psychology, so I'm great at finding new ways to teach material to students who struggle to learn it in class.
I'm looking forward to working with more students and increasing their confidence in their own math skills!
I've always wanted to be a teacher and I love teaching! I know math can be an emotional roller coaster for students, and my goal is to make every student feel successful as a mathematician!
I have my bachelors degree in Special Education and a masters in Educational Psychology, so I know how to tailor instruction to a variety of students.
I have a teaching license in special education and secondary math, and I've been teaching math for 4 years.
I have tutored students in math for 7 years.

When I'm working with a student, we usually start with any homework and assignments given to them by their teachers. We go through these concepts and work together on them. Then we work together on broadening those skills. If students need extra practice, I will give them short "homework" assignments to complete between sessions. When the session is over, the student will receive a Google doc with an overview of the concepts we went over during that session to reference later!
I work with students in AP classes, high schoolers, middle schoolers, and students who are on IEPs. During the day, I teach high school special education math classes, so I'm used to working with a variety of students!

Details
Each session is one hour in length, and costs $50 per hour for one student (each additional student attending the same session is an additional $20 each). This cost convers all the prep work I do to ensure students are receiving individualized instruction during our time together. This also covers follow up emails and Google doc notes of our sessions.
