About Abhishek
Hello, my name is Abhishek Vijayakumar. I am a Robotics Engineering student from Texas in my Junior year of college.
I have been tutoring for 3 years and am flexible to teach to any student's need. As a student, I understand the difficulty in trying to grasp concepts as quickly as my peers. I aim to teach as a friend and have a good time!
I received a Full ride with Distinction to the University of Texas at Dallas and received standardized test scores (SAT and ACT) in the top 1% of the nation. I have taken math classes up till Multivariable and Vector calculus.
I have had a passion for teaching that I found through volunteering. My mother was also a tutor when she was younger, so I learned how to tutor through her.
I have 350 volunteer hours in teaching Robotics with the nonprofit organization FLYSET ((concealed information) I have taught over 15 piano students over the course of 3 years. I have lots of experience with teaching different topics as a tutor as well. I have taught kids of all ages.

I start by evaluating the student with a few questions. I like to gauge how comfortable they are with the subject. I also like to ask them how they think I could best help them. I can start with the basic concepts or specific topics as needed.
I have worked with all different ages of k12 students. I also volunteer as a tutor in college.
I would advise finding a younger teacher. Younger teachers can relate to the ways that courses are taught in schools. Younger teachers also communicate in an informal manner. I find that this makes it much easier to learn that way.
My chemistry student was on a trip and needed to squeeze in a quick session. I was able to teach the topic in 30 minutes that he struggled to grasp for weeks. He was ecstatic to announce to me that he received a 100! My student's test scores are the best reward.

The most important question is figuring out how you need your teacher to teach you. Finding out how you learn best will help someone teach you better as well!

I price my classes at 20 dollars an hour. I like to teach at the student's pace, but my students usually do not need longer than an hour per session.
